Guest guest
Shiva is depicted as accepting even small offerings, his devotees are capable of. Little water or bilva leave or thumba flower are some offerings, he accepts with pleasure and grant boons to his devotees. No need to spend for collecting elaborate "Puja materials". Has not the hunter "Kannappa" offered even 'meat' to Shiva?. He looks at the inner feelings of his devotees and not the outer rituals and calculate how much you have spent in worshiping him. The same Shiva, in the form of "Rudra" and "Bairava" are depicted as 'ferocious in nature'. Devotees are perplexed at this seemingly opposite natures. Water which is very light flows easily and the same water enables us to take bath, to swim or float. But when it is turned to ice, it becomes solid, heavy and hard. A bar of ice is enough to finish a man when hit with on the head. Likewise Shiva or God in his "sowmya' aspect grants boon and prosperity. The same God while He undertakes 'Samhara" or destruction behaves in an entirely different manner. We have seen the natural calamities like tornodo, tsunami and hurricane that cause large scale destruction of life and properties like earthquake and volcano. This is the same power but in a different aspect. According to the needs of the time, God too enacts all this drama. Sairam.
