It was Pujya Shri Narasimhaswamiji who was instrumental in propogating 'Sai bakthi movement' in South India. Though he was not fortunate enough to visit Shirdi during the time when Baba was physically present, nonethless he took on his shoulders to propogate 'Saibaba' to the south.Once he was very rich and famous. He was a leading lawyer from Salem, a town in South India and had a very good reputation and he was attending to his duties. Suddenly one day, he witnessed a great tragedy in his family. Both his sons got drowned in a well due to a freak accident. Unconsolable he was, but the same tragedy has opened his inner eye. He relinquished the practice, abandoned his home, left the place in search of inner meaning of life. During his wanderings he happened to meet Shri Ramana of Thiruvannamalai under whose guidance he stayed there for some time and wrote a beautiful book about Shri Ramana. But the Maharishi told him or bade him to his real guru by some signs and directions. Thus started the quest of Narasimha swamy and he visited Shirdi after hearing about the greatness of Saibaba whose mortal remains are interred in the Samadhi at Butiwada. He silently prayed to the saint and requested him mentally to show him a sign if he has to follow and propogate him in South India. He prayed that a small bird perching there should descend on his shoulder. Immediatly, the bird flew directly to him and sat on his shoulder. Thus he became an instruments in the hand of Sai. He went from place to place, gathered evidence of Baba's miracles when He was alive and collected valuable notes. He acquired a land in Mylapore with the help of a donation from some unknown person and the Saibaba temple was started on a tatched shed with few photos. In course of time, due to the dedicated efforts of Pujya Shri Swamiji, it expanded its activities with a small dispensary for poor, a school for local children and poor feeding etc started in a humble scale with the donations from a devoted few. Thus "All India Sai Samaj" was registered and continues its philontrophic activities. Many who sought Saibaba through Swamiji were immensely benefited both spiritually and at a worldly level. Sairam.
