Shri Kasthuri was solely fortunate to have encounters with Balasai. He could not dwell on the mystry of Swami in the begining. He was a sceptic as far as 'sadhus or sanyasis' are concerned. He used to caricature them in his writings in Kannada language when he was in the habit of writing to journals. How Swami turned him into a staunch devotee is a saga of test and patience. It took several years for Kasthuri to come into terms with Swami's Avatarhood. He was well educated and a professor of History in Mysore before coming into the fold of Swami. His autobiography is a wonderful book to read. His humour, his satire, his handling of the language, all were classic to state. Once you open the book, you will not feel like keeping aside. It was so absorbing. Though he had the manuscript ready for the biography of Saibaba, Swami never permitted him to go ahead with the publishing. Only 10 years later, Swami consented for printing the first volume of "Sathyam Sivam Sundaram". Swami is well aware that the world is yet not ready to recieve or read such deep subjects. Even Shri Kasthuri has not matured enough in the company of Swami and he too has to wait for those ten eventful years to dwell deep in Swami's mystry. As the proverb, "Slow and steady wins the race" and "hurry spoils the curry", Swami had his own diagnosis of the psyche of world as well as His official biographer. Shri Kasthuri himself has narrated the sequences, that led him to Swami and the kintergarden stage to PG stage he progressed under the constant survillance of Swami is a saga of detachment and dispassion for Kasthuri. He could have lived comfortably in Karnataka after his retirement. But Swami's plan was entirely different. To make a beautiful jewel out of Kasthuri, He subjected him to so many trying experiences and eventually Kasthuri too endured all the process of jewel making in Swami's workshop and emerged victoriously. If we go through Kasthuri's autobiography, we can understand Swami's relation with Kasthuri and his family. Everyone should read the beautiful book. Sairam.
