Nowadays we have more attractions in shopping and gadgets. Newer and newer goods pour in the electronic, mobile and MP3 markets. Swami Vivekananda rightly warned during his sojourn on this earth, "Never be attracted by newer things. These fascinations won't last. It is a waste. Swami too cautions us with "Ceiling on Desires". Keep those things which are essential and just sufficient. Do not cater to the whims of the eyes and ears. Our mind knows NO satiation. The more you pour oil or ghee, with more fury fire raises its tongue. There are billions of beings on earth, barely surviving with one sparce meal a day. They do not have any extra dress to cover them. What they wear is already in totters. Is it judicious on our part to harbour more and more desires. Be content with what you have. If you have an extra dress which lies in the corners of cup board for long time it can be dispensed for the sake of poor. Seek them at their dwellings. Give them in plenty. God will take care of your immediate needs. If each and every individual in this world learn to remain content with what they have and disperse the extra one, be it clothing or medicines or food items, It would be a greater service in the name of God. Are not those our own brothers considering the fatherhood of god and brotherhood of man? Sairam. This is a Christmas and New Year message for all devotees of God. Sairam.
