Thursdays are special for Guru worship. Shirdi Baba and Swami attribute the same importance to Thursdays and both in Shirdi and Prasanthinilayam special worships are offered to Shirdi and Parthi Babas. On Thursday evening, children of preliminary classes are brought for Dharsan. For Swami, all moments are holy. But, for the sake of devotees he allows special worship on Thursdays. Lord Dakshinamurthy, the silent preceptor, who is young imparts through silence, the wisdom to the elderly ascetics. We feel that we can get wisdom through speeches. Not so. The realised guru like Shri Ramana Maharishi mostly remained silent. Rarely he opened his mouth for clarifying the doubts of seekers. Those who came in His presence realised the importance of keeping quiet, both externally and internally. It is a witness stage. In fact, silence is powerful than speech. Speech is an aberration. Hence in the Bible also it is said, Be still and know that iam god. Only in the stillness of conscience, we can infer great truths about our own reality.Sairam.
