Swami says that the feeling of 'i' and 'mine' is the root cause of all troubles. We are all affected by attachments and affections towards this passing show called 'earthly existence'. The relationship we hold towards our family and relatives are 'temporary'. Before marriage, 'who is a husband and who is a wife'? Before marriage, the girl with whom you are going to be engaged might have suffered from 'fever' or other ailments. You would not have bothered then because no relationship existed between you and her. Once you are married, even a slight 'pinprick' would have disturbed you much'. Why? It is the 'myness' which is the cause for this attachment. Only after the birth of son or daughter we develop relationship with them. Hence, Swami says, "all these relationship are temporary and it came 'in between' and hence it won't last for ever. The husband and wife are like " two logs of wood floating in the river and by virtue of various forces of water current, they join together in the middle, float together for sometime and by the same force of current, they are seperated. Hence, never develop any false attachment with persons or things of the world. You should develop only one attachement; i.e., God. Hold the world with the left hand and hold god with the "Right hand". At some point of time, you have to leave the hold of 'left hand' and hold tightly "God" with the "Right Hand". Sairam.
