Guest guest
What benefits technology has brought to the human society? Is it worthwhile? Have the people in rural background got any benefits from technology? Mobile communication and internet, no doubt has created enormous employment potential to the urban educated. But majority of population who live in the rural set up, are deprived of any economical enhancement due to the commissioning of mobile technology or internet. The benefits of this technology will percolate in rural scene only after 5 to 10 years. The basic requirement of rural populace is food, education and basic healthcare. Agriculture and animal husbandry is the vital base for livelihood. If the technology could augment these fields, it would contribute much to the welfare of the rural poor. With these ideals in view, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithis are concentrating their service activities in rural villages which lack these basic infrastructure. Previously rural health camps were held once in a while, but now these villages have been selected for sustained care by Sai Samithi volunteers. They visit those selected villages every week and work for the upliftment of each and every family. Sairam.
