When we look at the "Sarva Dharma Ayikya Stupa" (pillar depicting the symbols of all major religions) at Prasanthi Nilayam, we understand the universal appeal it creates in the mind of visitors. Swami has ascribed certain inner meanings to each symbol depicted there. To the symbol of cross, Swami asks us, "to cut clean across the "I"(ego), to emerge gloriously. For the cresant and star, he tells us, "Be like the star which never wavers and is attached to the cresant. For the "Om" symbol, "listen to the primal sound that resonates in your heart. For the fire, He says, "burn all your impurities in the fire and rise".Likewise He clarifies for each symbols. Hence we should never count on the outer symbols alone in life. We have to look in for deeper meanings of such holy symbols. Finally Swamy asserts that "All religions lead to one goal and one god only". The calling names or assumed forms may vary but the fundamental Divine principle is one only. Sairam.
