All the knowledge gained by us from this world through our senses of perception is incorrect. It will lead us to confusion through misjudgement. The inputs from the sense organs are deciphored in brain but it is the mind which ultimately feels those sensation be it a scene, or music or smell or taste or touch. It is the individual Jeeva who experiences all this through the feculty of mind. In Sai Sat charita, it is mentioned that all this manifold world is caused by Maya. The Jeeva, though it is in fact beyond the Satwa, Rajas and Thamo gunas(Calm, active and inert), imagines itself as bound by the three primal qualities of beings and hence it constantly undergoes pain or pleasure or a mixture of these two. It is a false concept of the "Jeeva" which is veiled by Maya. Only when it is able to rend asunder the veil of Maya, it can realise its "Reality" which is one with "Brahman" or Supreme self.Sairam.
