Guest guest
Everybody has the capacity to observe their thoughts. Only they have not learned the art of standing away from the thought process and observe it. As long as we are one with the mind, it is not possible to observe the thoughts. Step aside a little and watch the pranks of the mind. In one moment it will raise you to Himalayan heights. The other moment it will plunge you into abysmal depths. Is it a friend or foe? It is neither a friend nor a foe. It depends upon how you use it as an instrument. The knife in the surgeon's hands though cut open the skin and other layers of muscles, it is meant for curing or correcting some problems inside our physical body. When a thief or murderer wield the same knife and inflict a scratch on our body, he is liable for prosecution and to be put behind the bars. Likewise, mind in the control of "Buddhi" can cause much benefits whereas if it serves the interest of the senses, it will take you to the lowest level of existence. Sairam.
