Guest guest
When we think of Arunachala, we are reminded of Shri Ramana Maharishi. He taught through silence. He revealed that silence is profound compared to words. Many feel that words are powerful as a teaching tool. But Lord Dakshinamurthy is depicted as "Mouna Guru"(Silent preceptor). He is young lad. His disciples are elderly ascetics. But the teachings are by silent transmission. Many may ask "how silence can enlighten"? Here, we have to remember Swami's advise to the sadhu long ago when Swami was in his teens. The sadhu was naked sanyasi but handicapped. He was carried in palanquin by his assistants. When he was brought in front of Swami at Puttaparthi, Swami chided him for troubling others by carrying him to places. Swami gave the sadhu, cloths to wear. He told him, "I know why you are acting like this. I know that you are fearing that none will care for you if you remain at a place. No. I assure you that I will provide you and take care of you wherever you may stay. It is not necessary to remain in public while you undertake sadhana. The spiritual vibrations of such practitioners will envelop the world. Hence it is not necessary to teach through discourses. The disciples gets inspired by the spiritual vibe of the preceptor. For a successful sadhaka, the prerequisite is "silence" both outer and inner. Sairam.
