Both

her parents were devoted to Baba. Hence she was inculcated into the Bhakti Marg very early in life. Sarojini was born on May 2nd 1910 at Bandra.

She was the daughter of Lakshman Ganesh Mahajini and?, whom Baba called

‘Kaka.’ Mention is made of in various places in the Sai Satcharita ,#12, 35] Sarojini first visited Shirdi in 1918 along with her father. Baba upon seeing her

beckoned her to come close, He said: “this is My Maina

[sparrow] then He sat her on His lap” She visited Shirdi

often with her father. Baba asked them to stay at Shama’s

home. The stay would often be for 5-7 days sometime longer. Depending on when

Baba gave them permission to leave.

Sarojini did her primary education at the Hujurpaga High School Pune. She

learned classical music. She played the Harmonium and Dilruba.

As she was very talented she mastered both instruments. Having successfully

passed many examinations, she had numerous certificates. She married Bhaskar Vinayak Muley, in 1928, and moved to Indore, Her husband worked in the Holkar State Offices at first and later was in the

administrative services of Madhya Pradesh. Upon retiring from the services, he

did a lot of social work along with his wife. Sarojini

was an office Bearer of the Tukogang Bhagani Mandal, and did various

charity projects.

Once

Kaka visited Shirdi and Baba said ‘He had

visited his home ‘Anand Ashram’ in Pune,

and found the door locked. Upon returning home he questioned his wife. She

confirmed it saying, ‘she had gone to the Ram Mandir

at that time.’ Sarojini tirelessly worked for Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan. She was president of the Annual Sai Leela Magazine meeting in

1981.

She

took Samadhi on 16.11.1998.Her daughter with her family live in Indore.
