Saint Ramalinga and Swami.

In the last century, saint Ramalingam(Vallalar) has taken birth near Chidambaram(Tamilnadu). He has practiced Daya and Ahimsa(non violence), throughout His entire life. He founded "Jeeva Karunya Saba". He has arranged to feed all who come to the place and the practice continues even to this day. An eternal light glows in the place where He vanished from the vision of people. His teachings are par excellent and they illumine the mind of many seekers. He has composed many poems on the Lord and His mercy. Unfortunately, not many could dwell on His Divine teachings. Hence, out of exasperation, he told one day, " i have opened shop but nobody bought anything from Me". Why i narrate all these? Swami, during one of His discourses has said the identical thought. Many a time Swami used to say, "I am searching for a true devotee". It is really a pity that we do not measure upto his expectations. The main reason is our worldly thoughts and nothing else. The moment, we distance ourselves from worldly attractions, our progress in spirituality takes place. Since this is Kaliyuga, the distractions are many. Hence we have to exert our maximum in order to progress. Sairam.
