Events depend on God and not God depends on events.

We can not live without events. But Swami can remain so. If we go through Bagawata Purana, there is a term called "oodhi" wherein the bifurcation and time periods of "chatur yugas"(Four Yugas) are elaborated. In between each yuga, there is a contact period or buffer zone during which transition between one yuga and another takes place very slowly. After the end of Chatur yugas, there will be "Pralaya" or annihilation of creation. During the period Shri Mahavishnu is portrayed to lie on the leave of the banyan floating on the water. Until the new creation starts, He is there on the leaf. Hence it may be surmised that God never depends on any event whereas events depend on god and men depend on events. Sairam.
