Avatars descend in this earth to guide the people.

Even before the advent of the Lord, everything was functioning as ordained. Only to give a visible direction to the people who were confused and forelorn, the Lord chooses to adorn the human garb. Many saints and sadhus, many highly devoted souls prayed incessantly for the descent of the Lord as promised in the "Bagawat Gita". Shri Aurobindo has clearly written the process by which the "Krishna consciousness descended in this world". It was on 24 th of November 1926, Maharishi Aurobindo announced this to the gathering in His Ashram at Pondicherry breaking many years of silence. After that announcement, he secluded himself from people's gaze, to return once in a year only. The yearning of many evolved souls made this a possibility. Swami has clearly emphasised that the Avatars descend to give a chance to the people to be near them, to talk to them, and move with them to understand Divinity in close quarters. During the Krishnavatar times, many rishis were born as "Gopis" to taste the nectarine and pure Love of Shri Krishna, to fulfill their yearnings. Hence Shri Krishna granted them a chance to be near and dear to Him.Sairam.
