It is a boon to pass away after drinking a few drops of water from the Lord's hand. Envieable is their attainment. To my knowledge, one Venkatamuni was blessed to be on the lap of Baba while passing away. Swami sought special permission from Mrs Venkatamuni before taking him to Madurai saying " i will take him alone with Me". There was no chance for Mrs Venkatamuni to read the underlying significance. Likewise every body knew the blessed soul Subbamma, who though 'pronounced dead' by all was revived for the last promise of the Lord, that He will bless her at the ultimate moment. Keeping his words, he rushed from Tirupati to bukkapatnam and then to Puttaparthy. The people who were present were almost admonishing Swami for the late arrival, since Subbamma has already passed away and ants are crawling on her body. Swami endearingly called her 'Subbamma Subbamma, your swami has come. True to the direction she opened her eyes and caught hold of swami's little hand as swami poured the few drops of sacred water with tulasi leaves on her tongue. She opened her mouth and with the tongue prayerfully swallowed the water and passed away peacefully. Take the case of Shri G.K.Raman, convenor, Sri Sathya Sai Trust, Tamilnadu. He was sitting there in the verandah opposite to Interview room. Around 8 AM when Swami was nearing, he collapsed. Swami brought a tumbler of water and poured it in his mouth and he merged in the Lord. They are very noble souls and they won't have any more toil in this mundane earth. Sairam.
