Many lead their life without any aim. This is a fact. They are more preoccupied with their basic needs and hence they toil day long to feed them and their family. Naturally we can not impress them with talks on philosophy. Hence our primary duty is to feed the poor, clothe them, attend to their health and help them with shelters. Then comes education and livlihood. Once they are better off to take care of themselves, simple truths can be taught to them. Human value education is a primary necessity. From history we are aware of the stone age, iron age etc. For many centuries people toiled to fend them. Then they slowly learned to cultivate the lands.Livestock thrived when there was abundant rain and greeneries. When a particular land became barren, they migrated to greener pastures. They started learning to live in communities. To protect from natural furies, they started worship of nature like sun, river, moon, fire etc. But all these took thousands of years to evolve. Villages thrived, agriculture was found to be a basic necessity. New inventions and tools were made to easen their toil. Slowly art and culture began to take root. People were curious about the origin of everything and many enlightened philosophers started meditating. After sustained sadhana, they intuitively heard the "Veda sabda". They assimilated the truths and started teaching those 'vedas' to earnest students. Thus the ageless wisdom of 'Vedas' continued to remain in the memory of seekers. Many of them vanished and Vyasa codified the remaining into four vedas. But at present, the present generation of Pundits practice different branches in each place and many were written in palm leaves. Of course though India is the mother of Vedas, many foreigners who happened to visit India found the treasure trove in them and they started translating them in German and other languages.Max Muller has done great service in this regard. In India we have prints and books of Vedic literature assiduously preserved in important libraries. After the advent of Saibaba, the sounds of Veda is once again being heard throughout the world. Even in Russia, there is regular chanting of Vedas. They have presented the recitation in Prasanthi Nilayam recently. Sairam.
