Along with the trash novels that abound in book stores, there are several books on philosophy, religion and about sages and saints of the world. People are more disenchanted with the worldly activities. Swami used to refer often, the divine discontent that well up in each individual due to excess entanglement in earthly activities. Naturally they get depressed with the ways of the people around. Love and righteousness are buried in the debris of materialism. God alone can enlighten the people on the fleeting pleasures of the senses, and educate them to seek the permanant One instead of the temporary. Even our own experiences in the world can become an eye opener to us. We all toiled for money, properties, family and children for all through the years until we become infirm. Now our attention is for the upkeep of the body and we spend a lot on medicines. When Swami says, "Start early, Drive slowly and reach safely", nobody listens sincerely. Hence the Bala Vikas programme started by Baba started yielding enormous results. In Sai Institutes, many of the students who seek admission were from Bala Vikas. It is natural for children to imbibe good things easily. They are flexible whereas elders are tough stuff to mend easily. Hence educate the children on noble ways from their young age. Sairam.
