Light and Love

 

****Having obtained Sai, hold on to Him very firmly,

Once lost, you can never regain the good fortune of serving Sai’s Feet,

Blessing you with devotion, suffusing you with energy,

He will bestow upon you the boon of liberation,

Worship Him with one-pointed faith and devotion,

Don’t be led astray by the words of others for they will land you in utter disaster.

 

****I am not different from the master divine,

I am Parabrahma, the creator indeed,

I am bliss and nothing but bliss.

I am always content, I am not affected by fear,

I am the in dweller that speaks

Om Tatsath

 

****He will solve riddles by appearing in dreams,

He will clarify doubts, while in meditation,

He dwells in the mind of man all the time,

Bestowing peace and bliss and he is Sathya Sai.

 

****The bird chataka longs always for moonlight,

The bee loves to be hanging around freshly blossomed lotus,

The patient desires to taste medicines of different flavours,

The Lord of Parthi eagerly looks to be among his devotees.

 

 

That which hath brought Him down for caring Prahlada,

That which hath brought down the Lotus Eyed to save the snouted (Gajendra),

That which hath brought the - Veda Personified to console the poor Kuchela,

That which hath brought down the Vaikuntavasa to foster the child Dhruva.

 

Reckoning the same, that ever saluted,

The affectionate to the destitute

The lord of Maha Lakshmi, the lord of Universes

Has come down to be the Emperor of Puttaparthi.

 

**** The Ramachandra of yore is this Ramachandra

Come to see his own men.

That boy of Nanda is this child of bliss,

Come to seek his own cowherds.

The Mahavishnu is this Mahavishnu

Has now come to seek his weapons.

 

The Eswara (lord) whom the sastras extoll is Sai Eswara

Has now come to play with his own lot.

That God is the real wire puller,

Now stands in the midst of his own men.

Then and now showering grace

And filling everyone with pure blasé.It is My firm vow

To shower bliss on mankind in its entirety.

It is My nature to guide those

Who have forsaken the path of righteousness.

I love to relieve the pain of the poor,

Whose needs I fulfil, sprinkling love on them.

I feel the same towards both good and evil,

Treating alike without any sense of attachment.

Never shall I give up My devotees,

Who come to stay in My fold.

Always I care for their well-being

How is it possible to tarnish My Name!

 

****He came close this time and there’s joy all over

In between, observe caution, He may not come to you again

And that may cause you work.

Don’t get puffed up when he showers praises on you,

Sure He makes fun quite often at your expense,

He makes you cry and you may say He loves to see you sad,

In between He makes you laugh till your belly aches.

He assures security showing His (protecting hand) Abhaya Hasta,

But causes suffering and pain and does not talk to you.

He doesn’t allow you to proceed or withdraw,

You suffer within and the mind is never at rest .

As you cannot comprehend the small human form of Sai

How can you understand SAI, and the world?

 

****Sathya Sai is the name that reverberates

Whichever is the place, city or town or village.

Sathya Sai is the name that echoes and re-echoes

Whatever is the man, wherever He is,

From his mouth emerges the name Sai Rama

Whatever is the area wherever you see,

Sathya Sai is the form.

Sathya Sai responds to every bhajan sung every day,

The name has spread all over the world.

The most popular name that is recited with devotion

That gives courage and strength to those singing the name.

 

****How can you feed Me with dainty dishes,

When I contain in My cosmic belly, the cosmos at large.

How can you name Me correctly,

When I pervade all the living species and dwell theirin.

 

How can you bathe Me,

When I am the one who lives in all the waters of the earth.

How can you worship Me with a lamp,

When I am the one who shines with a splendor exceeding the

Brilliance of one crore suns.

 

How can you ever know My form,

When I am the one who is beyond the grasp of Brahma and Shiva.

What more can I tell you,

O gentlemen of this August assembly.

 

****Like a man starving for days

Is treated to a sumptuous feast,

Like a village strict with drought

There occurs heavy downpour of rain.

 

Like a barren woman cursed by fate,

Finds herself a blooming mother to a lovely child,

Like a person in distress whipped by poverty,

Finds himself in possession of a hidden treasure.

 

The world where righteousness is on decline,

Descended Sri Sathya Sai at Puttaparthy as the saviour

What else can I tell you. What else pious members of this

August Assembly.

 

****

It is My tender love that saved

The elephant lord (Gajendra) from the wicked grip of the crocodile.

It is My boundless compassion that saved

The honour of Draupadi in the hour of her humiliation,

 

It is My limitless kindness that saved

Prahlada from many a peril.

I incarnate myself from time to time

For the protection of the Good and destruction of the Evil,

 

O Kasturi! Realize the sweetness of my honeyed heart

And receive the birthday blessings.

Sai delights the heart of his devotees

With sweet melodies and sweet language

Sai teaches the subtle dharmas

In clear and crystalline words.

 

****

Action in anticipation of fruits therefrom

Is a vain and futile effort on this earth.

If one doesn’t expect fruit from action if devoted,

Fruits will be showered on him by the emperor of Parthi.

 

All six sastras of lore on his tongue,

Has come to capture the hearts of hosts of devotees

With a body bright, black and blue

Descended on earth in Prashanti Nilayam. The lord of Parthi will protect you always

Out of sheer compassion and love filling to its brim.

He will hold you and guide you

Without leaving His grip on you His hand of protection.

 

****In love full, you experience bliss

So is Truth, Sacrifice and Peace.

There can’t be security if there is no love

This is the path of Truth and the word of Sai.

Heaps of wealth won’t give you the experience

Of the Bliss you are here to receive.

Pilgrimages do not make you better anyway,

but share the experience Of the Bliss you are here to receive.

 

All knowledge put together will not give you the experience

Of this Bliss you are here to receive

Controlling of breath for hours together

will not give that experience Of the Bliss you are here to receive.

 

Not a cent spent nor a limb bent,

No turning of pages, no exams to pass.

Sai needs your heart in its totality

And receive from him the Bliss with ease.

 

Bringing colourful flowers as an offering in worship,

Will not satisfy the lord, and’ll never accept them.

He will accept if offered in faith and devotion

He is Sri Sathya Sai, love in human form!

 

****To set things right and set them in proper order.

It is in utter chaos and disorder

The world needs correction.

Seeds of hope, peace and good will are to be sown

To come down strongly on Evil tendencies

And to protect the virtuous and the pious,

And to exhort men to do the right things ,

And to prevent just that lip movement without depth.

 

To reveal the hidden secrets,

To relieve Mother earth of her burden

To fulfil the promises that he had made in Treta Yuga

The Krishna of Dwaraka has come as Sai on earth.

Sai speaks nectar sweet, with lilting melodies,

Fill hearts of millions with devotion deep

Subtle statements made in scriptures

Are words of right conduct the words of Sai.

 

What does this word ‘incarnation’ mean?

God with his infinite love and compassion

Descends to earth, coming to that level

With the physical form of man with divine powers.
