Ekoham, Bahusyam meaning "I am one, Let me become many" is the first thought of the Universal Self. Thus creation started and the original thought concretised into mind and matter. The agent for creation is the 'mind'. This is the vital link between the Cosmic self and the material universe.We know pure gold can not be manipulated to become jewels. A little amount of brass is added to the gold to enable it to be drawn into thin wire and made into beautiful designs. Mind is also akin to the 'brass content' in the gold. Likewise 'pure self' can never be manipulated. Hence a false 'mind principle' is entwained into the pure self to manifest as universe and its content. All the living and inert matter is because of the mind involvement in the self. Hence if we are able to annihilate the mind, then we can remain as the pureself. Sairam.
