A sense of doership is always present in ourself when we undertake some work. For instance, i am typing the message. The theme is conceived in the brain and the fingers start typing them. Can i say i am writing this message? If i feel that i am doing it and claim ownership for this work, then i am an egoist. i must feel that i am an instrument in the hand of Swami and the work is being done for the sake of Swami. This should be the proper attitude, but my mind always thinks that it is doing all this. This is a false assumption. Hence the sense of doership must be relinquished first by me and i should consider myself as an inert instrument. This requires great practice, a consistant one. Even if my mind fails me in this pursuit, i should bring it back to the truth. Swami says frequently that we should become like a straight and hollow flute, so that the divine melody should be sung through us. Let us practice this sincerely. Sairam.
