When humanity slide into abysmal depths, the lord incarnate to protect the virtuous and to punish the wicked. But virtue is fast disappearing from human psyche. Grabing and hoarding has become the order of the day. Even multinational companies adopt dubious means to excel in their field. Government has become a sorry spectator to the events that unfold due to liberalisation of economy. Every where the clamour is for more money, more salary, more acquisitions. We witness many big business people join together to form huge conglomerates almost creating a monopoly in each sectors. None can be blamed except the greed of the people. No government can teach virtues to the people. In previous eras, kings fostered hermitages and compulsory residentship for all students in forest hermitages were implemented. Yagnas and yagas were performed for the welfare of the people by the kings. Worship in temples has become part of the people's activities. Thus to an extent righteous ways were implemented. Now the government as well as the governed do not pay heed to righteous ways. They play vote bank politics to retain power. Minorities are enticed by each political parties for the sake of votes. No rulers have genuine interest in the welfare of the people. Hence the service activities of samitis attract one and all throughout the world. Hence more and more members of Sai samitis are required to be engaged in intense service activities and uplift the mentality of the people towards higher ideals. Sairam.
