Who is your greatest enemy? It is your mind. Who is your greatest friend? That too is only the mind.It is said in the scriptures,"Manameva Manushyanam Bandamokshamsa heduna" meaning mind is the cause of both bondage and liberation. How it is logically possible or correct? We have a lock and key. If you want to lock, you turn the key in one particular direction. If you want to unlock, you turn the key in the opposite direction. Hence if the mind is turned towards the world, we are bound by actions of the world and thus suffer the consequences. If the mind is otherwise turned towards god, it liberates the individual from the shackles of Maya. Hence there is nothing illogical to conclude that mind is positive as well as negative. It is how we use the mind, that really matters. Sairam.
