God is very near to us when we undergo troubles and tests. It is for the sake of giving us an elevation in spiritual ladder, tests are embedded. When studying in schools and collages, we do not resent exams, for they are part of the curriculum to conduct periodic tests. When we accept such tests as natural in our ordinary mundane life, why we resist them when the Lord put you to tests to assess your strength. Do we not shake the nail driven into a wall, to test its firmness before hanging a photo of god? Swami has said 3/4 th of our time passes without much difficulty. But the Lord tests you during 1/4 of the time only. Even this we resist. No, we should be open to tests. Then only we can progress in spirituality. During joy, we do not progress. In pain, we contemplate and start brooding. This way we understand that pain really helps us whereas joy is obstructing our progress. Hence with open mind welcome tests. Sairam.
