Police ban coconut and garland at Shirdi temple

Mumbai: In view of the threat by terrorists to attack Siddhivinayak temple, devotees have been prohibited from carrying coconut and big garlands in the temple. Shri. Shrikant Pathak, additional Superintendent of Police has now made a similar demand for putting a ban on carrying coconuts, garlands, flowers as also mobile phones even in Sai Baba temple at Shirdi. Security around the Sai temple has been tightened and police have cautioned people to be alert. Information has been received by the Intelligence Bureau about terrorists targeting important religious places in the country. In this background, police have taken such steps. In the area of Sai Baba temple, 70 policemen with 5 police officers have been engaged and additional 30 policemen are going to be provided. Temple administration has fixed cameras at crowded places.
