Bhakta (B): Is Iraivan personal or impersonal?

Siddha: Know the Iraivan then the question will be answered.

B: But they say the impersonal Iraivan is the highest. It is a leap

from dvaita to advaitam.

Siddha: It is due to misunderstanding one says thus. Dwaitam is where

one is still separate from Iraivan. It is like seeing your lover face

to face. Adwaitam is becoming one with Iraivan, it is the merger. It is

where difference between 'I' and 'you' ceases. But coming down, this

difference appears again, yet the anava as pertaining selfishness

doesn't hold anymore. This state is abided in forever after mahasamadhi.

B: But when Iraivan takes form, is he not limited.

Siddha: That is because you deem the form of Iraivan to be like man.

Regardless of with or without form, the Iraivan is same only. We deem

the form to be like man. Man's form will die and get recycled. He is a

limited being. He exists in the body alone. Can you think of a hundred

things simultaneously?

B: No.

Siddha: So, that is the limited power of mind. Now the AIDS is ravaging

humanity. There are many social and economical ills also. But none can

give the correct solution. This is because of not being all-

knowledgable like Iraiva only. So Iraivan in the form of Sivan is the

same Iraivan proper. To make the impersonal form higher is because of

deeming the Iraivan in form to be lower alone. This is a mistaken

notion. Being impersonal is like a power without a will. Let me ask you

something. Is there scientific laws in the world?

B: Yes.

Siddha: For example water in certain conditions will always boil at 100

degress celsius regarding of the human observing or not. Or water will

have the element of hydrogen and oxygen in it. This is universal. It is

where the shivan causes its shakti to take the specific form. And

thereafter in this form the quality of shakti is tied. This is known as

jadam. Man with his buddhi names the particular form (rupam) with a

name (namam) and understands the interactions between these. As such

the world is made of namam and rupam only. This form is the fire Shivan

holds and namam is the sound symbolized by the drum. If animals in the

process of choosing the mate fight over it with each other and one dies

what will happen?

B: Nothing, I suppose. Its just nature.

Siddha: If it happens in humans?

B: Surely one will be jailed.

Siddha: Why? Are we not animals too?

B: But we have buddhi.

Siddha: Yes. But we are animals too. Yet Iraivan has decreed that one

should have a human form to exhibit this quality. Can you find a dog or

animal which behaves like human, I mean does it build a house and

imposes gender equality, law and order?

B: Ha ha, No.

Siddha: As such Iraivan has willed specifically that his creation

should be so and so and that the human form to have the highest

manifestation of the soul in the worldly plane. That is why the world

makes sense to us and by use of buddhi one studies the nature. Thereby

one arrives at science. If not there will be chaos alone. So the

Iraivan who has willed his creation to be such cannot be called as

impersonal using the notion as you have said. Iraivan has made a

conscious choice. This can be seen all around you. It is because of

this also we have a will. If a thing is like the jadam, for example the

lamp post, will it move here and there and try to do something?

B: No, how can it. It's lifeless.

Siddha: It appears so. But in truth it is shakti alone. It belongs to

Iraivan proper. Only we make use of the jadam. When we die we will

leave everything. But in this jadam (body) we are the atma. As such we

move here and there and desire for this and that.

B: But they have made the robot.

Siddha: The robot will only do what it is programmed. It will not be

aware, as such it will not recognize a thing which is not already

registered in its programme. It will not feel curiosity, jealosy,

greed, happiness and so on. It appears intelligent because it responds

to stimuli. It is like the calculator. If you press the button it will

give you answers. The small baby will not understand mathematics. Yet

which is alive?

B: The child.

Siddha: As such the child will grow and gradually the power of buddhi

shines. He designs this and that. But the calculator will be stagnant

only. So understand this difference. The Iraivan created jadam so that

souls can enter it and seek happiness through superiority. Is this not

what we compete for, to be best in education, business, beauty,

athletics and so on?

B: Is it wrong?

Siddha: It isn't. Only when we manipulate and exploit others via

selfish desires, cheat and kill, therefore it becomes wrong. Man has an

idea of justice. He feels compassion for others and helps others. One

sacrifices oneself for the family and others out of this love alone. It

is because one knows love, sharing and sympathy. Hence only there is a

law in place which promotes equality, be it gender or race. Yet, many

do not follow it. It is only applied when others direct injustice to

us, but we do not shrink when commiting injustice to others. This

hypocrisy stems from anava only. The brain is made up of material atoms

only like carbon, oxgen, nitrogen, fosfat etc. These atoms do not

exhibit intelligence, desires nor anava when taken on its own. Only

when it takes the form as brain in man and the soul inhabits it, it

exhibits such traits. But without attaining mukthi also man knows the

correct traits via his conscience. It is due to this that modern

society and lawmakers have pushed for this idea of equality, freedom

and justice. Only man is torn between his conscience (manasakshi) and

selfishness. Following the voice of conscience is the first step.

Without doing this one's davam will not bear fruit.
