LOVE

(Chapter 2)

- continuation -We

all talk about love, we hear about love, but very few of us can express

it, simply because we have not received that kind of love, during our

childhood, which we needed. Our parents did the best they could but if

they were not given love or taught how to love, it is very difficult to

pass it on. Actually, the only place from which we can really receive

the kind of love each one of us needs is from deep within us, from the

God source within us. We have this illusion that we love people, when

in reality, all we are really doing is holding on to them for our

security and comfort. Surrender makes us shiver because we do not want

to give up anything, but true love is not only in sacrificing but in

not holding onto things possessively. If we can surrender, then we

receive back much more than we gave up. This is love. Love is the only

emotion that is truly healing. It

is impossible for us to love everyone, for the world is peopled with

all sorts, vagrants and worse, and we are not at that place where we

can forgive easily, but we can ask God to send His love through us to

the world. If there is someone you cannot and do not love, there is no

purpose in pretending to love them for that does not work. That is when

it is essential to ask Him to send out love to them through us. The

astonishing thing is that when one gives this love, one gets back so

much more than one ever thought possible. The bliss that one gives, the

love that one shares, these alone will be our possessions through

eternity. The outer world enthralls us with thousands of myriad

temptations of trinkets, opportunities and loves. To live and work

permeated by love is no easy task. Love transforms man into a divine
