Prejudice is a greatest obstruction in spiritual life. Once we start judging, it implies duality. It is usual we never judge our own selves. We pass our judgement on others. Swami views it very seriously. He has said, "It is one of the worst sin to judge others or find fault with others. When we harbour humptin faults, how on earth we deride others. Hence if you are serious in spiritual practices, be blind to others faults. Rather punish yourself for the transgressions your mind indulge in. Many pure souls in the past used to punish themselves by observing fasts and mouna virata etc. I have read one such event. Paramacharya of Kanchipuram, when he was young used to visit many temple towns during the course of "Padayatra". In one place, he was served with a nice preperation of green leaves. He liked the taste of the particular item. As a mark of atoning such desire, he desisted from food for 3 days in order to repent for the transgressions. Such was his self control. Shirdi Baba never knew any taste of the begged food. He mixes up all the things that was poured in his "Choli" or tumbler and mixed everything and after offering to "Allah" he used to feed others as well as himself. He never bothered about the taste etc.Swami relishes only Ragi gruel, the food of the poor villagers. He is not particular about any other dishes. When Easwaramba and his sisters bring some home preperations, he may take a little. When somebody asked Swami how he gets "Sakthi" from the frugal food items, he used to say, that the food is not imparting sakthi, rather he imparts the sakthi to all. Sairam.
