One devotee asked Shri Ramana Maharishi, whether we can contribute to the welfare of the world?. Shri Ramana replied, God is there to take care of the world. "you look after your welfare, i.e., Remain in your SELF. That is more than enough. In fact Ramana told many devotees, "Sitting silently and meditating in the Self is more than enough. "Those silent vibrations will engulf the world. We are all thinking that knowledge should be imparted vocally. No, Silence will be conducive to knowledge. See Lord Dakshinamurthy, who silently imparts the sacred knowledge to the Sanyasis and yogis. Swami practically applies this truth in Prasanthi Nilayam. There may be several thousands gathered in the "Sai Kulwant Hall". See the pin drop silence they maintain while waiting for Dharsan. Mostly it is self controlled one. Only some new comers break the rule due to ignorance. Swami has said several times, "In silence, the voice of God can be heard within. If you speak continuously, we lose precious energy. Hence adopt both inner and outer silent. Sairam.
