Guest guest
When you are given some work, you should put your heart and soul into it, and do the work with the utmost sincerity and dedication, to the limit of your capacity. Take for example a person who is entrusted with planting trees and developing a garden. If he does the work wholeheartedly, the plants will come up well, and the garden will grow into a thing of beauty. When Swami comes to see that garden and feels happy with the condition of the plants, then Swami’s joy becomes the Grace He bestows on that person; and that Grace will confer great happiness on that individual.(SSS. Vol XVIII – Chap 15, Para 11)Oh man! Can you get away from theconsequences of your Karma?Whether you take your vessel to a wellOr to the boundless oceanYou can fill it only to its capacity. You cannot get more than what yourKarma entitles you to.Remember this, Oh man!Wherever you may go,Whatever you may study,Whatever penances you may do,You cannot get away fromthe decrees of Karma!(Sathya Sai Speaks Vol XX – Chap 29, Para 34)Three types of activity reach God and earn His Grace.(1) Activity not prompted by personal desire,(2) Activity emanating from unselfish Love and(3) Prayer arising from pure hearts. These are the items to which the Lord pays heed; They reach God direct. The rest are the concern of deities who preside over their disposal. Therefore, prayers have to be unselfish, saturated with Love, and free from the taint of “attachment to the gift that the prayer would bring.”(Sathya Sai Vahini – Chap ‘Prayer’, Para 13)“Offer services and receive love.” This is the recipe for experiencing Divinity. But today, service is not offered wholeheartedly. Few render service with love and hence, few receive God’s grace. Even their love is self-centered and is not all-embracing. Our love should not be confined to our kith and kin. It must extend beyond the family to society as a whole, then to the nation at large, and finally embrace the whole world.
