Guest guest
When we are attracted to ephemeral external beauty of any one, ponder deeply within whether what you perceive to day as beautiful last for ever. For instance you love some one basing your judgement on external appearance. Think that due to some fever or other ailments, the other one abstains food for a day or two with unkempt hair, worn out looks, shadows below the eyes etc. If you happened to visit the individual, you will become wary about your judgement. This is known as ' Infatuation'. Swami has narrated one beautiful story akin to the narration above. A prince was enchanted with the beauty of a particular girl who is also a princes in her country. He lost his sleep and apetite thinking about the girl night and day. Finally he developed some courage, visited the kingdom and proceeded to tell the princess his abundant love for her. Though she is a princess, she was brought up strictly according to tredition and also well learnt in all walks of life including philosophy and spirituality. She knew too well that her looks and complexion is a matter of time and will fade like a flower. Hence she advised the Prince to come in her presence after 3 or 4 days. Meanwhile she took purgatives and underwent all the effects of the dose. But she collected the waste materials and liquids in several jars tightly closing them. After 3 days, the Prince eagerly visited the Palace with the hope of getting her hand. He sought the audience of Princess politely. Meanwhile some one odd looking emerged from the inner chamber of the Prince. The Prince was reluctant to look at the girl who looked so ugly and scarecrow. Now the girl addressed the Prince thus. Oh Prince, I am the one you were eager to meet. The Prince was agahst at this statement taken aback. He could not accept the Truth. However the Princess asked him to accompany the inner chamber where the covered jars of the waste materials are kept. She pointed out the jars to Him and said, "What you consider as beauty is nothing but dirt and waste. Hence do not rely upon the physical eye, Real beauty is Beauty of the Soul and hence realise atleast now that all the outer beauty wane away in matter of Time. This is a great lesson to one and all and we must also keep in mind the immortal words of the Princess as narrated by Bagawan. Sairam.
