Guest guest
Nowadays in the world, almost all people are affected by bouts of depression frequently. There are various reasons that can be attributed. Sai devotees are not excluded. To test us we are also subjected to mood changes often. But Swami says, He is not responsible for our condition and we ourselves are the cause of it. All are equally afflicted by "Expectations" in life. When desires are not fructified we naturally become sad. Even when daily routines are disrupted, we become sad and sorrowful. We become mentally weak because of body consciousness, ego and myness. First of all we must try to learn to keep our hearts open in times or sorrow and trying circumstances. We are always open to joy. But when sorrows assail us we shrink within ourselves and resist them. But we must learn to accept things rather than to run away or fight with them. Swami has time and again stressed the importance of keeping the heart open under trying circumstances. Mind is wedded to the body and hence the mind oscillates when we feel threatened. Also the mind conceive fearful future events and starts worrying about it. Hence we must always try to live in the "Now" rather than in the future or brood about the past. If we have unshaken faith in the Divine, we can leave all our burden to Him and remain free from torturous thoughts. Sairam.
