Guest guest
The emphasis of controlling the mind lies in the food we consume. Swami has said, a minute portion of the food we consume is turned into mind and thoughts. In that case we have to exercise more caution in what we eat. Hence to prevent the evil tendencies from spreading through the food, Swami advises us to repeat the Manthra of Bagawat Geeta, "Brahmarpanam........ Of course Sai devotees may be well aware of the purport of the Manthra and mostly many may be repeating the same before eating our food. Swami has once said that the food we eat can not be termed alone as Food. Other senses relishes their objects. They also constitute food only. For instance, the eyes look at many scenes and persons. Ears hear many melodies as well as other sounds. Nose smells many fragrances as well as other smells. Hence all the perceptions by the senses also constitute food. Hence we should discriminate in the food, our senses relish and allow the senses to partake only Holy, wholesome and spiritually elevating foods. Sairam.
