Guest guest
Prasanthi Bulletin Index of earlier Bulletins Thursday, May 24, 2007 This evening, Bhagawan arrived for darshan after 4 o'clock in His chair instead of coming in the car. He went around the verandah after emerging from the interview room, and also came down the aisle in the Bhajan Hall in His chair. Bhajans and Arati were as usual. Wednesday, May 23, 2007 This morning, after a quick darshan round in the car at 7.45, Bhagawan went to the grounds of the Planetarium where Sai Geetha's body lay. He came up in the chair, spread vibhuti on her trunk and face, and returned to His abode after pacifying her distressed caretaker. Cranes and bulldozers from L & T were readied to inter her massive frame inside the new building built as her residence. As the crane moved her body towards the final resting place, Bhagawan arrived in His car - it was 11 am. The crane operators had to do a few adjustments to the hoist so that the crane boom could fit into the building - the whole process took more than an hour. Bhagawan waited till the very end, and at 12.30 blessed the burial site and left for His residence. Sai Geetha's body was covered with rice grains and other traditional materials along with fruits, and her velvet cloth ornaments were also interred. It was 4.45 when Bhagawan came for evening darshan. He came to the Bhajan Hall a few minutes before five o'clock, asked for the Bhajans to begin, and left half an hour later after Arati. Tuesday, May 22, 2007 Today, the devotees from Buddhist countries had their second day of Vesak celebrations. In the evening, the functions concluded with songs by Hong Kong ladies choir, the Japanese ceremony Gomadaki and bhajans. Meanwhile, in the Planetarium grounds at Vidyagiri, Swami's pet elephant Sai Geetha breathed her last. She had collapsed in the morning, and efforts to revive her failed. Monday, May 21, 2007 Devotees from Buddhist countries, and in particular from Japan, Hong Kong and other Far-Eastern countries, have congregated at Prasanthi Nilayam for celebrating Buddha Poornima or Vesak. A report on the two-day celebrations is coming soon. Sunday, May 20, 2007 The Union Home Minister along with the Minister for Mines arrived at Prasanthi Nilayam for Bhagawan's darshan and had an audience with Him at 4 o'clock. After His darshan round, Swami had gone on a round of the verandah in His chair, and arrived at the front entrance of the Bhajan Hall just as the dignitaries arrived. You can see an illustrated version of happenings at Prasanthi Nilayam in the Prasanthi Diary of our monthly e-Journal Heart to Heart. The previous issue of Prasanthi Bulletin is available here.
