In the Bagawat Gita, Shri Krishna emphasizes the middle path in life's activities. We should not go to either extremes. For instance, a devotee want to observe 'Upavas'(abstaining from taking food for a day or so) and he is a 'Diabetic'. What will you recommend for such a devotee? We will ask him to consume liquid diet, porridge etc, to enable the sugar level to remain at the required limit. Otherwise he will swoon due to low sugar. We should not punish the body. Moderate food, moderate exercise and moderate sleep, moderate recreation should be our aim. Even in spiritual activities also, a householder need not plunge himself fully all the time. Keeping in consciousness "Rama", he can go about his work. Maintaining a pleasant outlook is a must for spirituality. Hence Baba asks the devotees to 'remain happy always'. We should heed his words. Always exhibiting 'sullen face', long face, castor oil face, make others also unhappy. Wear a pleasant smile always. It is a good tonic. Do not think spirituality as a dry exercise. No. It should be made pleasant by our attitudes. Hence do not be rigid in sadhana. Be free and flexible. This is mainly for house holders and house wife. Be joyful. Sairam.
