Mind increases the suffering in an individual. The restless mind sways from one thought to other like a monkey which never rests in one branch. Actually the feeling of 'Myness' suffers. We always build castles constantly by our desires. Those desires makes us restless. Knowing well the futility of such thoughts, we still hanker for more and more things, more and more comforts, big bungalow, car etc though our earnings are just enough to pull on. Is it not a wonder that man witnesses several people who pass away in the midstream, and still feels that he will never die. What is the use of the perishable wealth, youthfullness etc, when ultimately everything changes. You may accumulate many things in life. The feeling of possession lasts a few years. What guarantee, it will remain ever with us. Either we may leave or the possession will leave us. See the fate of Empires. What happened to the great Roman Empire? The Greek ? Now we learn about those from history books and Archeological evidence. We are pilgrims on the voyage of life. Our destination is God. But we are satisfied by constructing a house on a bridge! Is it not funny. Swami once has narrated a beautiful story. A man went to a palmist to find out his fate. The renowned Palmist examined the lines on the palm and predicted very prosperous life, beautiful wife, children etc. The man was elated much. But after a deep thought, the palmist has told a sad forecast, that his life line is very short. What is the use of all this wealth and happiness when your sojourn on this earth is short? This applies equally to all of us. May be some may prolong to live a few years more. But as age increases your faculties start deteriorates, and you are always in need of assistance from some. People start developing hatred towards you when you become a burden. Their only aim now is to get rid of you and seize the property. Why should we become burdensome to many. Why not we become light with relinquishing our own desires? Repeat the name of Rama, Krishna, Govinda or Sai.Sairam.
