Guest guest
I was working in Border Roads Organisation in India as a supervisor during 1974. The work involved were in deep jungles of Nagaland and Manipur. Our Task force was involved in forming motorable roads mainly for the defence purpose as well as for the use of local villagers. I was working for nearly 7 years in those remote areas. Naturally I was sad and I was seperated from my parents and brothers for the majority of the period of service. To add my woes, I was married the previous year and left my wife hardly 3 days after marriage. There seems to be no way out to get away from the only source of my livlihood. Of course I was in a sullen mood. In a fit of frusteration, I wrote a letter to Chief Engineer, Highways Department narrating my woes and requested to him to consider my case for a temporary appointment on lien at my native state, Madras(now chennai). I had a beautiful dream one night in which Shirdi Sai Baba was smiling at me. There the dream ended. Next day I was writing a letter to home narrating the appearance of Sai Baba in dream and I wrote that I am unable to comprehend the significance. Exactly at the same time, one of my collegue rushed to me and told me that I was offered an appointment as Supervisor in Highways Department in Madras State. That very moment, I found the significance of the smile of SaiBaba in my dream and thus I was relieved from the monotonous career in Border Roads. Sairam.
