Guest guest
Dear Sadakas Kindly elucidate on how the human wishes and wants can be made to go from our mind?? It is very difficult to understand the fact that after renunciation of the wishes only we can reach the feet of God. Thanks Krishna
Guest guest
> It is very difficult to understand the fact that > after renunciation of the wishes only we can reach > the feet of God. > Renunciation is a very misunderstood word, taken by most people to mean leaving everything & living in the jungle. But thats not renunciation, thats just cowardice! Your desires areise because everyone feels incomplete. To become complete, you look for happiness outside, in money, power ,food, sex. But in all the cases, you find pleasure, not happiness. Happiness only comes from our true inner nature, knowling your True Self. When you become aware of this, all your desires automatically fall away, like torn clothes. But you cant force this! Rather, it happens automatically. All you can do is meditate. You wont find God by renouncing all your desires, as renouncing is also a form of Ego- what is their to renounce or give up? People say " I renounce " . The " I " is still there, so whats the use! In the Gita, Krishna says " Offer all your actions to me " . Most commentators take this to mean that we should only do action, & not worry about the result. Sri Aurobindo goes one step further & says that we have to realise that even the one doing the action is not us, but God Himself, thru his Nature, his Shakti. Read his Essays on Gita, a real masterpiece, if you get the time. So meanwhile, dont feel guilty about your desires. They never were or are your desires! If we accept God is working through us, then all desires become Gods desires, & how can you renounce Gods desires? If you start thinking this way, God will automatically put you on the road to Moskha & enlightenement, as now your Will has become his Will. Guest guest
By being aware of our actions, we can slowly reduce the attachment to Things and people. another way to do this is to focus on subtler things like meditation, bhakthi, yoga etc. this way we will reduce the dependance of the mind on basal pleasures. But the basic fact remains that till our vasanas are completed, we will never be desire free. To shrug off vasanas, awareness of our actions, desires and thoughts will help. You can never renounce a desire, one can only succeed in suppressing it. So it is better to lead a ful life with awareness and work off our vasanas. , " srcm_tdk " <srcm_tdk wrote: > > Dear Sadakas > > Kindly elucidate on how the human wishes and wants > > can be made to go from our mind?? > > It is very difficult to understand the fact that > after renunciation of the wishes only we can reach > the feet of God. > > Thanks > > Krishna >
