Guest guest
I have heard of the 8 chakra centers, the Sahasrara, Bindu, Ajna, Vishuddha, Anahata, Manipura, Swdhisthana, and Muladhara. Since, as I have been told before, that Sri Aurobindo's Purna yoga is based on Kundalini, how do I properly meditate on these 8 centers? So far I know of the Heart, Throat, and Third-eye chakras. However, I am still missing the lower 5, and I believe I have more control on Anahata than the others, so, on a lighter note, how do I balance these centers of cosmic energy? Bindu & Ajna(actually, it shud be spelled Agya, which means Command / control) are the same, they are counted as 1. Bindu is at opposite end of Agya, on back of head. It has its own special significance, which is why sometimes it is mentioed as separate from agya, but I wont go into that now. > Since, as I have been told before, that Sri Aurobindo's Purna yoga >is > based on Kundalini, how do I properly meditate on these 8 centers? >So > far I know of the Heart, Throat, and Third-eye chakras. However, I Aurobindo didnt advise meditating on all 7 chakras, as that is proper Tantra. He advised concetrating on agya(near eyebrows) or Heart(with heart we mean heart chakra , in center of chest, on spine, near physical heart). Aurobindo said Heart is better, as agya may lead to inflamed ego. The Heart is very important, as it is the seat of Conciousness, & in Samadhi our awareness reaches heart(it is in eyes when awake, & throat while sleeping). To meditate on the Heart, you can visualise a white light there. Another way is to imagine an open lotus petal, made of jewels & shining brightly. If you want, you can imagine a beautiful Godess is sitting in the jewelled lotus, as our Conciousness is taken as female(Citi Shakti, or power of Conciousness in Tantra). Rather, the Light of the Divine, descending from the Sahasradar, will automatically open the Chakras 7 make the Kundali rise, but the Sadhak will personally make no effort to do this, just concentrate on surrendering to the Divine Will. In response to a question, Aurobindo said that if one must concentrate on some Chakra, the heart is the best, as it is the center of Awareness of Divine Love. Agya leads to inflated ego.
