FROM THE SATSANGHS OF SAIBANISA JI http://www.angelfire.com/celeb2/saidarbar/pages/S3500055.htm Compiled by: Sai Sevak Smt. Rajeswari Kasturi, Saidarbar – Hyderabad. How to develop dispassion - Quotations from “Gnaneshwari.” Baba used to ask His devotees to read Gnaneshwari. Surely none can remain actionless even for a moment. Every one is helplessly driven to action by nature-born qualities (gunas) Desisting from action you can not even maintain your body. Let not the wise man unsettle the mind of the ignorant attached to action, but let him get them to perform all their duties, duly performing them himself. (For) ordinary men fellow whatever a great man does. They go by the standards he set up. The Great persons attained perfection only through performance of duties (without attachment). Looking even to the welfare of the society, you should work. There is nothing, in the three worlds for me to do, nor is there anything worth attaining, unattained by me. Still I work. Your duty is only to be engaged in action but never to be concerned with results. Let not the fruit of action be your aim. Let you also be not drawn to inaction. For those that move above the three ‘gunas’, what is obligation? And what taboo? He who is free from the notion of doership and whose reason is not tainted, though he kills these people, he does not kill nor is he bound (by sin).
