Guest guest
> Whether a Guru is needed to attain the feet of the God? or How to > reach God without the help of Guru? You should take up any Sadhna, that you can learn from a book or internet. If you do it continously, & with honesty(which is what most aspirants lack- complete honesty), & God thinks you are worthy, you will find a Guru. This is my experience, & also what the masters have said. You should never look for a Guru, as maybe you dont need one. You will only find a Guru if God thinks you have done enough Sadhna, & you cant go any further without learning advanced techniques. Again, honesty & patience is very important. Many people start 1 Sadhna, grow bored, move to something else. This is the worst thing you can do, as it shows to God you arent serious. > Further whether a spiritual follower has to celibate to reach God? >or > whether he can marry and continue the sadhanas to reach the God. God > has not created women without the purpose. First, your implied suggestion that only men can find enlightenment! God created both men & women for a purpose, not just women! One of the reasons I dont like Shankaracharya & his Swami order is that they have spread the impression that you have to be a Sanyasi to find God- Shankars commentary on the Gita & Upanishad repeatedly stresses this point. Thats why his commentary is so popular-it is so simple that any mentally retarded person can understand it, which is what most Sanyasis are in India. :-D All our Vedic Rishis were married, had children. In fact, Gristha, or living a married life, is one of the stages every man/woman has to pass through, acc to the Vedas. Celibacy, or avoiding sex, is not a pre-requisite to finding God. It is necessary for some types of Yoga(including the powerful but dangerous Kundalini Yoga), but it isnt a general rule. Specifically, celibacy helps build up a substance called Ojas, which can be used to clear internal Pranic channels. But unless you know Yogic techiques to use this Ojas, it isnt of much use to you. Also note that thinking of sex also wastes same or more amount of Ojas, so supressing sex desire(which is what most so called Gurus teach) is more harmful. In this, Osho said the best thing. He said one should keep meditating with married life. A time will come when one will naturally lose interest in sex, which is the real celibacy. One loses interst not just in sex, but anything in the physical world- money, power fame etc. Shantnu
Guest guest
It is all about evolution of the soul. Grahsta Ashram is an important link in this chain of evolution. it is a process of growing up and getting rid of some of the hang-ups that one might have as a single person and learn to accommodate the others' point of view in one's life. In the ultimate a Guru is a must, yes. The Guru may be in a physical form or an imagined form, but with a total trust and dedication in that object. After all God is the ultimate Guru, the rest are his representations. radhakutir OM - " srcm_tdk " <srcm_tdk Thursday, April 05, 2007 2:30 PM GURU HELP NEEDED OR NOT Dear Sadhakas Kindly clarify the following Whether a Guru is needed to attain the feet of the God? or How to reach God without the help of Guru? Guest guest
it Guru is needed but it is not necessary that he would be a person. if you treat God as guru and have desire to learn definetely he will guide you may be the method of guidence may be different.marriage agin it depends upon you . if marry then the partner should be spiritual in nature otherwise it will not be good to marry for the spiritual purpose. , " srcm_tdk " <srcm_tdk wrote: > > Dear Sadhakas > > Kindly clarify the following > > Whether a Guru is needed to attain the feet of the God? or How to > reach God without the help of Guru? > > Further whether a spiritual follower has to celibate to reach God? or > whether he can marry and continue the sadhanas to reach the God. Brahmcharya speeds up the process, but there are innumerable examples where married people also got Moksha (Janaka, nanak, kabir, lahiri mahasya)... so being celibate or married is not really a very serious issue love baba > It is all about evolution of the soul.
