> In chapter 9 of Gita shri Krishna tells:

" I live in all beings..but they dont live in me "

What is the meaning of this statement ?

>

The Holy Lord Krishna is the seed of all beings, all life force, and

all of creation. From Himself the Lord created ALL within Himself.

There is nothing, then, that is made that is not Krishna. Krishna

plays the game of forgetting who He is so that he may find himself,

and also so that the love he has within can be shared and multiplied

again and again, etc...

In practical terms it means the Divine is aware of our thoughts,

feelings, & works through us, but we arent aware of the Divine working

through us, & wrongly identify with them to create bondage.

When Sri Aurobindo was arrested & in court, facing death sentence,

suddenly he had a vision. Everybody- the judge, prosecutor, turnt into

Krishna. Krishna laughed & said why are you afraid? I am everywhere, &

I descend into men at will, & control their actions. Ordinary people

think they are the doers, yet I do everything.

Krishna said to him, even if this Judge wants to send you to prison,

he wont be able to, as it is not him, but Me who makes the decision.

By identifying with our inner Divinity, we can be one of the few who

live in Krishna, just as he lives in us.

Om Namah Shivaya,

In my veiws i understand that

Iam not iam,

you are not you,

and all are a spark of the supreme conciousness.

So iam and you are just an ego and it should be understood as it the

supreme conciousness which is in controll of all.

I understand that its that supreme conciousness and there is nothing

like me or you or.....

So Krishna explains to Arjuna about the very fact that he lives

within you & every thing and advises to kill his egos of being an

independent self.

So its the human mind which thinks itself as a SELF which is not

true. if we kill that ego it will be understood as Krishna lives in

all of us, and there is nothing like me or you or...

Shivaya Namah Aum.

Thiruchitrambalam.

Senthil.

Respected Baba,

The reply would be well known to yourself. What I have understood from the

commentary I've read is that the world is an illusion. The illusion is supported

by the Substratum which is the Self or Krishna. Therefore he is in all beings of

the world. But since the beings and the world are an illusion only, they are not

present in Him.

Since I am not reproducing verbatim my Guru's commentary, I could have made a

mistake in expression or may have misunderstood.

Kindly enlighten.

Vivek

Verse 4 and 5 of Chapter IX are very important verses.

In verse 4 the Lord says that I pervade the whole universe and all beings

exist in Me but I don't exist in them. How do the beings exist in Me? In

verse 6 an example of space and wind is cited. The wind is created in space,

exists and moves about in space and calms down in space. Likewise all beings

are created, sustained and disperse within Me. In this sense, I being the

cause of the universe, the effect (the universe) is sustained in and by Me,

the cause. What it means is that the cause can exist independent of the

effect, but the effect is totally dependent upon its cause. If there is no

cause, there can be no effect, it is as simple as thet. This verse also

gives us the comparison between subtle and gross. The space is subtler than

the wind, likewise Atman is subtler than the created beings and therefore,

it pervades all beings. In this sense all beings are in the Lord and not

vice versa.

In verse 5, again the Lord says, " but behold the wonderful power of My

Divine Yoga, even the created being don't exist in Me " . This appears to be a

contradictory statement but it is not so because the here the Lord is

talking in His Absolute state, where there is nothing other than the Pure

Consciouness. The beings are, as though created, but not in reality.

Another meaning of this statement can be that as the space is not affected

by the wind, even if it is very violent, similarly, I am not affected in the

least by the Karmas or Karma Phalas of the created beings. In this sense

their existence in Me is as good as if they didn't exist in Me at all.
