Rajeswari Kasturi, Saidarbar – Hyderabad. THE EGO IN MAN A high wave rises on the surface of the ocean putting up a show of a separate volume of water. It may take pride in its supposedly irrepressible impetuosity and mistaken notion of individuality. But it subsides and disappears in the mighty sea again before our own eyes in a matter of a few seconds. It does not know that even that short –lived individuality is relative to the other waves like it but not in relation to the great ocean of which it is just an insignificant speck. The Paramatma is the ocean and the Jivatma a trivial wave on it. Like any other wave, the Jivatma is also not an independent entity by itself. It is a part of the universal soul and its so-called individuality is only in respect of the other Jivatma but not the Paramatma. Hence, the human being, in whose flesh his Jivatma is encased, should understand that he is only a microscopic fraction of that Paramatma every way, not having any individuality of his own. Everything is in the universe belongs to Him. So an aspirant should give up all ideas of ‘I ‘and ‘mine’. He should consider that everything he does here is being by Him alone but not by this ‘I’. The feeling of ‘I’ and ‘mine’ is the basis of his ignorance that blinds him to all spiritual enlightenment. Any length of time utilized on gaining an intellectual grasp of this secret and any amount of mental or physical energy spent on emotional realization of the wisdom underlying it, is easily worth it. There is a definite divine program in the working of man’s evolution to perfection from Jivahood to Paramatmahood. He only aids himself in that evolution by completely erasing his ego and doing everything for Him and in His name, that is in a dispassionate manner. Om Shantih Shantih Shantihi Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu To be continued… --------------- 2. SAI'S NEWS FROM THE TIME MACHINE: March 1917- (Holi). Baba appeared to Hemadripanth in dream and said that he would come for meals that day and finally he arrived in the form of a picture. March 1988- Swami Ram Baba a noted devotee associated with Baba left his mortal coil at Bombay. ----------------- 3. SAI IN DREAMS: http://www.ettitudemedia.com These are the dream sequences and messages as received by SaiBaNiSaji From our beloved GURU LORD SAINATH OF SHIRIDI. In Anticipation that this feature will help in one's spiritual growth are hereby compiled from his personal Diary and presented to SAIBANDHUS. Translated and presented by RAGHU RAMAN SATULURY. 10-01-1995 Yesterday night I prayed Baba to help me in climbing the first step on the spiritual ladder. Only an individual with a mindset and thoughts centered on what he can carry along with him when he departs from the world can alone achieve progress in the field of spiritualism. Love for the physical body and sensual pleasures will put one step backward in the spiritual path. Decide well before taking the lead. Think twice before taking a plunge into the ocean of spiritualism. 14-01-1995 I requested Sai to tell me about the modalities to be followed in spreading HIS philosophy. Baba advised- To understand and practice HIS ideals in Toto before preaching others to follow. Overcome the ego conflicts and humbly follow the chosen path to achieve success. Lot of introspection is needed to deliver the goods courageously. 23-01-1995 Before retiring to bed, I asked Sai to give me tips to traverse on the right path. Sai appeared in the form of an unknown person and said- God has an umbrella for protection of his devotees, but it is the devotee himself who has to put in the efforts to come under it. Do not cause inconvenience to others by your life style. Do not engage in drum beating the good deeds done by you. Love all and do not aspire for wealth of others, especially the lower class. Understand the difficulties of the fellow human beings. Nothing comes in this World without putting efforts. To be continued….. ---- 4. QUINTESSENCE OF SRI SAIBABA'S PHILOSOPHY: (By Late Sri Bharam UmamaheswaraRao) " Shashi " : shashi_31 27. Maya Pujya Sri T. Subramanian garu of Hyderabad, a great disciple of Swami Chinmayananda, in his Book ‘Vedanta in Prose and Verse’, has written on Maya as: ‘The Sruti says that Maya is the material cause of the universe and Lord of Maya is the great Eswara, who pervades the whole Universe or sentiment and insentient objects. Maya is experienced by all. It is true from the empirical point of view, indeterminable from the logical point of view but negligible from the absolute point of view, yet it is responsible for the appearance and disappearance of the world. Being the sum total of ‘Vasanas’ or the impressions, it affords a medium of reflection, for ever shining and all pervading Atman and thus gives rise to Eswara. Jiva and Jagat (Universe) without in any way affect the nature of Atman. It makes the impossible look as possible. Such is the inscrutable and astonishing power called Maya. The magic of Maya defies the reasoning of logic and its application is irrelevant, because Maya is a strange mixture of doubt, wonder and error. As the plant lies latent in the seed, so also the waking and dream worlds are implicit in deep sleep. Just so, the impressions of the entire Universe lie latent in Maya. This forms an ideal reflecting medium for the ever shining Brahman, giving rise to Jiva, Jagat and Eswara’. To be continued….. ----------------------------- 5. SANATANA DHARMA & SHRI SHIRDI SAIBABA Sree Ram Navami 27-3-2007 The birthday of Rama Chandra is observed on the 9th of the light half of the month Chaitra (March-April) and is kept by some as a strict fast. It was on this day that Vishnu incarnated as Rama through Dasharat's wife Kaushalya. This day is also important because the celebrated Sanskrit poet Tuli Dasa started composing his classic Ram Charit Manas. The devotees take a bath in Saryu River on this day. The fast on this day reminds us about the righteousness of Rama, his devotion to his teacher, shelter to the refugee, brotherhood, devotion to parents, monogamy, devotion to the master by Hanuman and Angad, dutiful devotion of huge bird Garud. The temples of Rama are illuminated and his image adorned with costly ornaments. The Ramayana is read in the temples and Naches (nautches) are kept up during the night of the 9th. The celebration concludes on the 10th. SREERAMA-NAVAMI FESTIVAL from Sai Satcharita-Chapter VI This day was very dear and sacred to the devotees of Sai Baba. Most of them turned out on the occasion, and took a leading part in the management of the fair. Tatya Kote Patil looked to all outward affairs, while the internal management was entirely left to one Radha Krishna Mai, devotee of Baba. Her residence was full of guests on the occasion, and she had to look to their needs, and also to arrange for all the paraphernalia of the fair. Another work, which she willingly did, was to wash out and clean and white-wash the entire Dwarakamai, its walls and floor, which were blackened and were full of soot on account of the ever-burning Dhuni (sacred fire) of Sai Baba. This work, she did during the night, when Sai Baba went to sleep every alternate day in the Chavadi. She had to take out all the things, including even the Dhuni, and after thorough cleaning and whitewashing replace them, as they were before. Feeding the poor, which was so dear to Sai Baba, was also a great item in this fair. For this purpose, cooking, on a grand scale and preparing various sweet dishes, was done in Radha-Krishna Mai’s lodging, and, various rich and wealthy devotees took a leading part in this affair.
