Guest guest
when we sleep, especially deep dreamless sleep, there are no thoughts, and yet, everything functions perfectly and results in rest, relaxation, rejuvenation, healing, re-energizing the body. YES ? and when dreams( thoughts ) are there during sleep, they do serve a purpose, but only as a release of stress which means we do not assign meaning to them, and simply let them be, let them come and go, perhaps watch them as in a lucid dream, we neither agonize over them nor act on them what advaita teaches is that in a similar manner if we treat our daytime thoughts as we do dream thoughts we would be a lot better off which basically means that about 90% of our thoughts would be ignored; and only about 10% is all we need to function and would function more effectively without creating needless stress it is those unnecessary 90% thoughts that create all the suffering in the world is the teaching of all great masters in addition, currently there seem to be thousands all over the world who are awakening to these truths and are talking from direct experience not from book learning these teachings do not condemn anything; and we should live as best we can, as you say, in whatever situation we find ourselves-in, including dealing with the unnecessary 90% thoughts Amma Bless, anatol
