Dear technosadhak ~ welcome to the digest. This is a great group, and we

consider it to be our virtual satsang. It has been 10 years since I have seen

Amma, due to illness and other factors, yet I still consider myself a

devotee. IBefore that I had seen Amma about 5 or 6 times ... a handful as you

said. I do consider Amma to be a satguru as well as an avatar (an expression

of the Divine on earth).

I feel that I receive blessings from Amma every day. Sometimes I am aware

of them; sometimes I'm not. I do my sadhana, which consists of doing the 108

names of Amma, several prayers from the Archana booklet (which can be

purchased at the Amma shop), then closing prayers, ending with asatoma

sadgamaya, one of my favorites. I also say my mala, using the mantra that Amma

gave

me. If you didn't get a mantra from Amma you can use Om Amriteswaryai

Namaha. A mala is 108 repititions.

I also pray to Amma. In the Archana Book it says to pray to Amma and ask

for anything we need, and also to pray to her as our own dear Mother. So I do

this also. I am hoping very much to see Amma this year, as I am in closer

proximity to where she comes.

I hope this helps. I know a lot of people here will share with you. Welcome

~ Linda

I am new to Amma and her children. I have been to darshan a handfull of

times. I'm not sure what it means to be a devotee. Is Amma a Satguru? If so

how do I receive her blessings and guidance when I cannot live at the

ashram? What does it mean to you to be an Amma devotee? If the spirit moves you

to answer any or all of these question please reply. Jai Ma!

Welcome and Om Namah Sivaya !

Thanks for posting !

We have had such questions before, and there are tons of past posts.

Please read some at random and Amma will guide you to the right ones.

For many Amma devotees the main teaching is selfless-service.

Serving the poor is the best way to serve Amma, to serve God,

whether you live at the ashram or anywhere else.

The rest are details, is my POV at this time.

Also there are many Amma aphorism quotes @

Ammas_Darling_Children/

<../../../../../Ammas_Darling_Children/>

Don't worry if Amma is a Sat Guru, just try your best that

your are a Sat Devotee. But, you can read my Praise of Amma @

Ammas_Darling_Children/message/153

<../../../../../Ammas_Darling_Children/message/153>

and determine for yourself.

Thanks for posting and Amma Bless You,

Dear marci ~ I have at times experienced this awakening and banding

together ... as an artist, as a new ager recognizing the kin-ship of

others with

shared values, and as a person, feeling/experiencing that all is one. Now

my

isolation has taken me back the other way, so I feel solitary and without

kinship. This Amma group is my kin-ship now, but I hope to experience/feel

it again. Thank you for posting this ~ Linda

need

for restriction has been outgrown. Yet the struggle toward freedom has an

organic timing. Were the chrysalis opened too soon, the butterfly would

die. As the butterfly emerges, it opens its " right wing " and its " left

wing, " and then flies away to dance among the flowers.

....

We call these imaginal cells " co-hearts, " people who are simultaneously

called by something in their own hearts to share with others, to serve

and to

save what they love. Co-hearts can be of any kind: healing co-hearts,

artistic co-hearts, democratic co-hearts, yoga co-hearts, gardening

co-hearts,

parenting co-hearts. They can be lovers or friends, business associates

or volunteers in an organization. Co-hearts share a kin-dom – not a

kingdom

ruled by a king but a kin-dom where everyone is kin. Co-hearts are like

the cells, and kin-doms are the organs of the body politic. We recognize

that

at all levels we are part of a larger whole....

Dear vishvanathan ~ thank you for this reminder; I am glad for all the

reminders that have been given to the group lately, as I am need of them.
