Guest guest
http://link.brightcove.com/services/...id=66512823001 Dr Vijay Shankar is an awakened MD; he was a medical researcher with a very very sharp scientific intellect and goes into details of what illusion really means; how the whole world is an optical illusion of light, etc My wife and I have seen him a few times about 6, 7 years ago. He seems all intellect but has a warm heart. If you ask a personal question sincerely with feelings, he, like other genuine teachers, will reflect that back multiplied. Dr Shankar is quite a character and we like him. Summary paraphrased with my additional comments: Everything is Illusion; even all Knowledge is Illusion. Illusion does not mean it doesn't exit; illusion does exist, but not in the way the mind says it does. Also, illusion means it's constantly changing and not permanent. The whole world is nothing but an optical illusion of light and sound. Also, humans " think " what they sees, " not see " what they sees. Action is also an optical illusion. Suffering is a thought. Feeling is also a thought. Pain is also a thought, but on a more subtle, stubborn level. Body is in continuous motion; all objects are in continuous motion. Everything just happens. " Action precedes thought, which is actually contrary to popular belief. " [is this always true? I don't know!] The mind of thoughts is like the clouds that block the sun of awareness. However, thoughts, unlike objects, are not completely continuous, there are gaps between thoughts; thus thoughts do not completely veil the sun of awareness; and perhaps, this is why it is said that God's Grace is always there; simply put aside the mind. " Real " means it does not change; it's permanent. " Inquiry is listening and keeping quiet not requiring verbal answers. " thanks for listening, amarnath
