Actually we are neither our thoughts nor our bodies, because everything we can perceive and conceive cannot be who we truly are because we are that which is the witness of all our perceptions( what we see ) and all our conceptions( what we think). ......... we can experience our true nature more fully by resting in the silence of the heart. > > It can also be said that our primary nature is silence rather than noise( thoughts). > > And as St. Francis of Assisi said it succinctly, " What we are looking for is what is looking. Thank you so much dear brother, for the lovely and loving reminder....just in reading your post, one is instantly transported to that silence in the Heart....what we need is to remind ourselves to experience the world and life from this persepective....from the silence...consciously and more often...until hopefully it becomes the normal state of awareness.... no instant enlightenments, but a steady daily plod, reminding ourselves of where we are coming from, giving ourselves the time to dive deeply into that Silence... along with Mantra Japa, and periodic Amma darshans, we can be said to have the complete recipe....even if we don't have an elaborate sadhana...what counts is sankalpa, patience, and Love. delicious reading! again thanks! In Her Divine Love, and in Her Service, as ever, your own Self, visvanathan Om Namah Sivaya!
