Guest guest
if you wish to do this exercise, please take full responsibility, thank you and enjoy ! Science tells us that our body is mostly space, Don't remember, but probably more than 99% is space, And only a tiny % are the minute atoms, perhaps sparkling as the stars. In other words, if you had scientific or celestial vision, Your body would look, perhaps, like the night sky, dark space with twinkling stars here and there. The twinkling stars would be the atoms in this case. If that is the case, why is it we identify with the few atoms and not the huge space? Well, due to sense perceptions we see a movie of what looks to us as solid matter. This movie is due to our collective conditioning. But, why not experiment? Sit comfortably and relax; close eyes and relax; take a few deep breaths and relax more deeply with each exhalation. Now, shift your attention from all the thoughts in the head to your whole body. Now, remember your body is mainly space. Now, remember this space extends beyond your body, at least to that surrounding your body. Now shift your attention away from solid body, toward space ~ the space within your body plus that surrounding your body. Who are you? The body or the space? No need to answer this verbally, contemplate within your " silence of the heart " for the real intuitive insight which you need not tell anyone. Guest guest
Love this! did you write it Amarnath? I've been reading, on and off, The Quantum and the Lotus, in which a Vietnamese physicist converses with a French scientist who became a buddhist monk about the nature of reality, or what we consider real. They go into time, creation, perception, lots of angles on what constitutes reality. Led to reflections very much along these lines.
