Guest guest
Dear Amarnath ~ thank you for sharing some more of your spiritual journey. It wasn't until I got to the end that I realized what POV meant : ) Reading spiritual books has been a part of my journey as well, and I still have many which sit on my shelves unread. I have been wanting to re-read the Conversations with God books, and you have given me the impetus for a sankalpa (sacred vow), which is to take the first book out today and begin reading it. Thank you again ~ Linda Amarnath wrote: ....Then in 1971, I started meditating and experiencing stillness, peace, inner silence which helped me considerably to stay calm and peaceful in daily activity even in adverse situations. Then I experienced my heart open to the vastness of something that I had to call God's Love which seemed to be permeating all space. Later were some experiences of what the Vedas call Bliss( Ananda ) and LIGHT, which also like Love seems to permeate all space. Perhaps, that's where the expression Love and Light comes from. I also started reading spiritual books, by now maybe hundreds. There were many times during the last 39 years of my spiritual quest, that I thought I didn't need to read any more books, but the right books did show up at the right time. And just a few years I recall a story of Amma telling a devotee, a spiritual seeker with lots of years of experience, that he needs to read more spiritual books. Warning! This is not a prescription for everyone. In the case of one of Amma's brahmacharis who started a serious study of Vedic Scriptures, Amma came and took all his books away. Now he is a swami. So, my POV obviously changed, because now I can say I have experienced( to whatever degree, there is always more in the infinity of God ) God's Essence as PEACE that passeth all understanding( silence, stillness of mind and emotions ), LOVE and COMPASSION, BLISSFULL ENERGY, and LIGHT. All of which are available in Amma's Presence as the Sun when the dark clouds of the mind subside.
