Guest guest
Someone asked Amma: " What are the three top things one can do to be of benefit in this troublesome world? " Amma: " First, know who you are. " " Second, be compassionate; do selfless service. " " Third, be happy. " My comment: Amma emphasizes compassion, selfless service and love so much that I feel, if the question was asked " what is the best way to `know who you are' and to `be happy' ? " the answer would be, " be compassionate; do selfless service. " Perhaps the best example of someone, recently, becoming Self-Realized via path of 100% selfless service was Peace Pilgrim http://www.peacepilgrim.org/htmfiles/cc1video.htm Also Amma's recent( 2007 ) book has a strong emphasis on selfless service: " Lead Us to Purity " A selection of Sri Mata Amritanandamayi's Speeches 1990-1999 The following comment, if I remember correctly, was from Swamiji's class, made by Swamiji: " don't be a leftist or a rightist " on the one hand, but, on the other hand, always " side with dharma " " even Krishna ended on the side of the dharmic Pandavas " My comment: Krishna even told Arjuna to destroy the adharmic Kuravas for the benefit of whole humanity. " don't be a leftist or a rightist " I think means " do not hate the opposition; see them as mischievous children who know not what they do " Here is some discussion on this: http://in.answers./question/index?qid=20091010040347AAkdOLl Amma Bless, amarnath
